I totally enjoyed this book! Even though much of it deals with the negative things that lead Anna into anorexia - her failed career as a dancer, her isolation in a new country w/ a husband who is gone much of the time, the death of her brother and suicide of her mother - it is never a depressing story. All of those things are minimized by the pure and deep love between Anna and her husband Matthias, which you are rooting for from the beginning.
The story unfolds in alternating time periods, the here and now of Anna in the residential treatment center and her battle to regain control of her eating habits, and the past, where we see the depth of the love between Anna and her husband unfold with their love story.
The book is written in a lyrical, light voice, so even though the subject matter is weighty, the story never feels heavy or dark. You can't help but root for Anna throughout, and in turn, that makes you feel positive while reading this.
