As someone with an eating disorder, I think that this book could have done a better job portraying the realities of eating disorders. In the media Anorexia is typically the only eating disorder focused on, when in reality most people suffer from binge eating, bulimia, and a combination of all three. I found some of the descriptions to be stereotypical. I don't think this is a flaw of the author's by any means. I just think that because of my history I was reading this book through a different lens than many other people.

Overall though, I am glad that the author shed light and education on eating disorders and mental health. I hope that other authors continue to explore these themes because they are ever present in our society and we need to start the dialogue.
