I enjoyed The Girls at 17 Swann Street because the author did well at bringing the struggles of eating disorders to life. However, I was a little concerned while reading because I think this book contributes to our society's reliance on codependence as a treatment option and undermined the importance of therapy. Overall, it was well written, and I felt like I got to know many of the characters in this book. This was a quick read, given the spaced out style the author used to convey the dialogue and thoughts of the main character. I think that this is a light read that I might recommend to someone for beach reading, but I don't think I would recommend this book for someone struggling with an eating disorder, as I think it could make overcoming the disorder seem too easy.
