This was an amazing & heartbreaking book! It was sad & tragic, and hopeful & beautiful. Anna’s journey through her treatment for anorexia was difficult to read sometimes but I couldn’t put it down. We followed along as she resisted help & didn’t think she had a problem, then her dawning realization that she could actually die, and finally her decision to live and to fight.
The love story of Anna & Mathias was beautiful to read, as well as the love the girls had for each other at 17 Swann Street. The writing style was kind of dreamy...Anna’s thoughts & memories interspersed with what was actually said. Being in her head was so awful—you could feel her despair...but then her fierce determination. I won’t forget this book any time soon.
