When I was a teenager, I read The Best Little Girl In The World multiple times. I am not really sure why I was so fascinated with her battle with anorexia, but I definitely learned a ton about this devastating disease. This book felt like a fresh and adult version of this story. Zgheib captures the poignancy and devastation this disease can have on a person and their loved ones. The book has an interesting structure that provides disjointed snapshots of her past that slowly pieces together her life and her downward spiral. The first person narration alternates between the thoughts in her head and what she actually says providing a clear sense of who she is and what she is going through each day.
