While I found it a little hard to get into this book, it got much better after a while. The things Anna goes through are far different from my own mental health issues, but I did recognize the stages she went through. Sometimes you do not want help, or you want help so badly, but what is offered does not feel like it helps at all. It takes a while to realize it does more than you thought.

I felt for her husband so much too! Sometimes I really wanted to shake her, force her to see what she put him through - something that cannot be done, of course, and something that would do the opposite of help.

This book pulled on my heartstrings, and brought out all kinds of emotions. That is what makes a good book; it does not have to be easy to read, but it has to go straight to the heart.
