This book was a beautiful story told about an ugly disease. Once I began to read this book I could not put it dow because I became enchanted by the characters. They were strong women who drew me into their lives and I felt their pain as a reader. I do not suffer from any eating disorder, in fact I’m a heavier woman who suffers from a bone disease and this is why I struggle from my own weight issues, this made this book more compelling to me. This subject matter is so important and people should understand mental health more and this author does a wonderful job writing a difficult issue. I found myself many times reading this book, stopping and thinking about these characters and the depth in which she wrote them. She did a wonderful job making them relatable to readers and allowing eating disorders to be a subject that could be discussed in a different way. I have recommended this book to friends cause of the way it discusses women’s issues and how elegant it does so. How women need to quit judging each other and help each other. It’s a very moving book.
