Anna doesn't have a problem. She just wants to control her eating. She only wants to be a dancer again. But maybe deep down she doesn't really think being painfully thin is normal. Her curves and self esteem are gone. Food is now the enemy. Maybe life has become her enemy too.

The first pages of The Girls at 17 Swann Street pulls the reader in and doesn't let go. I want to know more about Anna and the girls she meets with Anorexia. Fearing for her survival, I can't wait to read the rest of the novel to see if she can survive the illness that is slowly killing so many in our society.
