While I really enjoyed The Bear and the Nightingale, at times I had a hard time reading it, perhaps because it just wasn't the right time for me, or maybe for some other reason. I had no such problems with The Girl in the Tower though. With the same absolutely exquisite writing from the first book but with a more exciting plot and (at least in my case) less confusion on the part of the reader regarding what's going on, I absolutely devoured The Girl in the Tower and now cannot wait for The Winter of the Witch. I am very excited to see how Katherine Arden wraps up this trilogy, and now we only have a little more than a month left to wait for the conclusion. These books are the absolute perfect winter read.
