When I read The Bear and the Nightingale earlier this year, I was completely enthralled. I loved it so much, I was a little nervous to start this book. You never know whether the second book in a series will be just as magical or a big dud.

Luckily, the Girl in the Tower was equally amazing. I was completely awed by the writing - the descriptions were so vivid, I felt like I was right there. And the characters felt like good friends.

Vasya continues to enchant, with her strong, independent nature. The story progressed smoothly, drawing me in and keeping me engaged from scene to scene.

The author has created a wondrous world - a captivating Russian fairytale. Once I started reading it, I couldn’t put the book down!
