The adventure that Vasya started in the first book continues in The Girl from the Tower. There is more action, folklore, romance, political intrigues in this book.

The book starts with Vasya on the run from home after being accused of being a witch. She has two choices: either be burnt as a witch or live in a convent. Vasya chooses to run away and ask help from a frost demon. But he has his own secrets and Vasya's path will lead her away from her initial goal

The trip to Moscow and the adventure that comes there adds new dimension to the story. And the new mysterious lord Kasyan Lutovich adds to the pile of intrigues Vasya encounters in the capital.

I really enjoyed the way Katherine Arden twisted the plot and enriched the characters, especially Morozko. This book gives a glimpse of the true frost demon in this book. I loved every scene he shared with Vasya in this book and I am looking forward to his role in future books.

In book 1, Vasya started off as a naïve child looking for adventure and learning what her strengths and weakness were. In this book, Vasya grows into a strong and reliable character who learns from her mistakes and opposes those who wish to hurt her or people she loves. As for the romance, things are getting more clear and steamer, and I'm looking forward to how that side of the plot develops.
