It is always nerve-wracking to read a sequel--will it live up to the hype? will it still have the same magic as the first book? Well, I'm thrilled to say that The Girl in the Tower was just as beautiful and exciting as The Bear and the Nightingale.
I loved being able to continue reading about Vasaya and her growth as a character. You can really tell that not only has she experienced more, but she has matured and is slowly developing into a more adult, overall experienced person.
The Girl in the Tower contains not only beautiful writing, but is also full of action and excitement that kept me turning the pages. I love the mix of a historical and fantastic setting, and I really love the entire atmosphere that Arden created. There is something truly captivating about this world and the characters in it.
