Winternight Trilogy ended up being one of my favorite trilogies, ever, and I had the pleasure of reviewing Winter of the Witch for part of a blog tour and so I read the previous two books this past year. The Girl in the Tower is possibly my favorite of the three. Our MC goes through amazing character growth and development in this sequel and while continuing to hold true to Russian Folklore, Arden widens the world for both readers and MC alike. The pacing makes it that you never feel this is more than a couple of hundred pages, and it is an intense read once the events start to come together. I would say overall this is the perfect sort of sequel, there is character and world development, set up for the third book and the perfect mix of old and new in regards to characters and information from the first book to this one.
