This book was... underwhelming. I went into it with the hopes that it would match the first book, but I just didn't feel like this book knew what direction it was supposed to go in. The characters felt flat in a way they hadn't in the first book, like their emotions were just there to push the plot along as opposed to having any real depth. It wasn't all bad; the book flowed smoothly and the plot was easy to follow without getting confused. It just felt as though the author had no idea what the overarching point of the story was; things just happened to happen. Personally, I struggle to enjoy books where I feel the characters are not fully fleshed out, and the characters in this book were just too one dimensional for me to be able to truly feel for them. I enjoyed the plot, but I wouldn't reread it. It was truly just subpar development of the characters and their stories.
