I have to preface all my comments by saying that I had not read the first book in the series so I think that I started at a disadvantage. It took me a little while to puzzle out the entire back story and to figure out who everyone was.

Let's start with the good points. The book's plot is fast paced and keeps moving. As a result, it keeps you turning pages to find out what happens next. It is a simple written account of a court room drama which provides suspense and excitement to the book. There are no long winded paragraphs full of symbolism or imagery.

The bad points are next! I found the story to be too predictable and unrealistic. I don't want to include any spoilers in this review but the way the protagonist is able to get out of some pretty sticky and dangerous situations so easily is just a bridge too far for me.

Overall, not a bad book. It is a solid, linear story. But ultimately, in my opinion, forgettable.
