Good, but not as good as the first

I had previously had the opportunity to read the first book to this, and I have to say that I was excited to see a second one. Emily Calby watched her family get murdered, but managed to escape. Living on the streets led her to Lucas, a former gang member. With the help of his girlfriend, Lucas trains Emily in self defense and takes her under his wing.
In this second book, which could easily be a stand alone, we are reunited with Emily and Lucas as they continue to live on the road. Emily runs into some trouble at a gas station and gets picked up by police, only to discover that she has a warrant out for her arrest for murder.
I have to say that while I did enjoy the book, it wasn't as good as the first. Lucas is hardly in this one, and again I understand it would have been hard to write him in while she was in jail, I wish he had played more of a role in this. Overall though, it was good!
