The title felt clunky and overdone. "The Girl [fill in the blank] has been overused for thrillers. The cover was rather blah, like an indie-published book.
As for the book, I must say that thrillers are not my genre. And this one didn't have anything that would make me want to pick it up. Especially since it's focused on a child. I just can't read about horrible things happening to children. Also, as a sequel, I felt I was missing something when reading the excerpt even though it did provide some back story. This book is a hard pass for me.
