I love how the characters act toward each other. Even though they seam like they hate each other, under it all you can see it is because Lucas cares about her. But the book does so well at showing that father daughter relationship they have rather than saying it. You can see she acts a little immature but it’s so realistic and stuff I truly would have done like walking away plugging your ears hoping they will let you get away with it so you don’t have to do what they ask. And Emily has her moments where you can tell she is young and immature, but she also is strong and stands up to bikers when she sees something she disagrees with. And then realizes her mistake in doing so. But still the author did a wonderful job of balancing her personality by showing she is still young but also is strong because of what she has been through and the life she lives. She is implosive but also smart. And more on how the characters interact, they are both quick and witty when talking to each other and it shows the inner person of the characters and their unique personality that automictically got me attached to the characters.

I really love how the story is written. Like just casually making things that aren’t normal sound normal like having a knife hidden behind your back. The story itself is exactly the type I love. I don’t want to read about people with perfect normal lives, my favorite is exactly what the main character is, a criminal living on the edge, hiding behind her horrible past.
