I have always wanted to live in the Hill Country of central Texas. The setting for this novel seems like the next best thing to doing so. I am of German ancestry and love all things German. A huge fire and a seeming get rich scheme is quite a combination. Small towns have many struggles and one of them is how to survive against the big box stores an online shopping sites. A specialized shop that is on fire is one that can not be duplicated. Add into that the small town gossips, the get rich quick people, and ordinary people who populate the small town.
