I really liked the first chapter of this book and I was really intrigued to finish it. But somehow the rest of the book was fine, but it didn't keep me as hooked as I thought it would. It was atmospheric and I really like intricate family dramas. This was confusing at first as to what the plot even was. There is also a lot of background for many different characters, which is odd for such a short book. I think if the book had had a few less characters and if perhaps the storyline was a bit more streamlined, with more focus on the plot, it might have been easier to follow and get sucked into. I didn't hate this book, but it was just very middle of the road for me when I thought I would really love it. I did really love the cover - I thought it was really pretty.
