The review on this book stated it was about families feuding in Texas. However what I found it to be about was families who settled an area and then two more generations. It was particularly about a group of children from these families and how their relationships intertwined and played out to the next generation. It was a interesting book to read not knowing anything about the German settlement in that area. It tended to repeat itself on conflicts that lasted way too long and how dating relationships played out years later. I find it interesting that the main characters returned to their original family land after trying to make a living at different things. It was hard to understand some of the German language dropped in but I am sure that is how the area speaks.
