Well Carel Geische is quite the character! I went from thinking he was a helpful man, to discovering he takes advantage of people’s circumstances, brought on themselves or not, to discovering he is downright manipulative! Then poor Willow, who seems to be begging for attention while also seeking her independence, all while knowing what type of man her father is. So much in the first few pages!!
