Thank you to Wednesday Books, Booksparks, and BookishFirst for my advanced copies of this book.

Taking place in Paris 1889, we are introduced to Severin-- the rightful heir to House Vanth. With his team, Severin collects artifacts all hoping to take his place back where he belongs. But when they are offered a mission that will do more than just that, they choose to risk everything.

What I loved: The characters-- each and every one of them. They are well written and their backstories are well done. You cannot help but to love each one of them for their own reasons. Chokshi does well with the chemistry between the team and other supporting characters. I felt that nothing was forced and it all had it's purpose. The plot was well written and left me wanting book 2!

What I did not love-- Some of the information was a bit much and hard to keep straight. I loved the different cultures and history that went into the plot, but for me it was just a tad overwhelming. I found myself having to reread certain things to make sure I followed.

This book was well worth the read and crossing my fingers that the next one is not too, too far behind!
