I had first got this book in my Owlcrate monthly subscription box. I hadn't heart of the author before, but the idea of mystery and treasure hunting intrigued me. The beginning was a bit slow for my taste and took me a few chapters to really get into the feel for the characters and situation. By the time I was about a quarter of the way in I was hooked! The world building was beautiful and the character relationships blossomed into something that I found myself being about to relate and sympathize with on a particular level. The stakes were high and as a reader I could feel the intensity rising as the story progresses. Roshani did a wonderful job of keeping the reader wondering and rooting for the success of the main characters. I cannot wait to see where the sequel takes me!
