The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi was a little confusing and made my brain feel twisty, but it was a beautiful world that was gorgeously written. It reminded me of Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo but set in Paris, France. I had high expectations since this book was the pick for Owlcrate, Uppercase AND Book of the month in February! I loved the clever connections of all the math and symbols and religion but I wish I knew more about religion because I think it would have made the story easier to follow. I liked the characters a lot but since so many of them had a point of view, I wish we could have spent more time with them all to get to know them. The friendship and banter between them was likable and funny and made me want to be a part of their friendship circle, and maybe know a little more of how they got to be so close.
