I completely unrated this book. I saw it and didn’t it was going to be for me. I have NO clue why I thought that, obviously I was completely wrong.

I read AND listened to this book. The narrators’ accents are amazing and I couldn’t pronounce the words to save my life. (Do you ever “brush” over words/names you can’t say?) When I started reading it, I was missing half of the details, expressions and, of course, the pronunciations. So I switched back and forth, I WHOLEHEARTEDLY suggest you do that if you read this. It makes the world of difference.

There is love, adventure, betrayal, magic, and loss. It’s so beautifully written and the world building is FANTASTIC. You’ll follow six characters. It was a lot in the beginning but worked out at the end. Of the six, Layla and Zofia were my favorite characters. Layla is an Indian baker who is a highly sought after dancer. Zofia is a Jewish-Polish mathematician, who struggles with social interactions. I can go on and on about each of the characters. But I won’t.

There is a slow burn throughout the whole book. And THE ENDING. Major book hangover and I need to read the sequel but I also know there is a cliffhanger at the end so I’m waiting for the third book to get closer to being published.
