Every once in a while I like to take a break from my typical "go-to" book genres and explore something new. Paris in the late 19th century is definitely something new to mentally travel to!

The pacing is just right, the details are used without excess and there are thankfully few tangents that historical books tend to include (which lose me and my interest). The premise of the story is intriguing and the unique time period and setting makes it stand out from other books in the same genre.

I will even go so far as to compliment the book's cover, the appeal of the plot summary and the opening pages as perfectly connected to create a fully finished product. This book shows dedication and effort behind it; making it all more intriguing and exciting to experience.
