I feel like the world building isn't as good as it could be. There are some parts of the book that just feel confusing. Granted, I only read the first impression on Bookishfirst, but i still had a hard time connecting to these characters
The plot seems like such a good idea. It's execution from what I have read, feels a little weak.
The characters are what shines through in this novel. It gives me Six of Crows meets Moulin Rouge ( only because of the setting though). France always gives me such romantic vibes. I feel like France could be a second character.
I might pick this book up and give it a chance. I don't think I would totally discount this from the chunk that I have read from Bookishfirst
