I didn't love the plot, but the characters were great

This book was fun, I had a good time, and I will definitely continue the series, but honestly I'm only really in it for the characters. The plot was confusing, not explained well, and honestly wasn't too important since I had no idea what was going on most of the time and still had no problem understanding the story. The characters are what saved this book, they're fun, dynamic, and just very human, and I really found myself relating to them. I'm not a fan of the love triangle between Hypnos, Enrique, and Zofia, just because I hate love triangles, but whatever. As a whole they're a super entertaining friend group and I love their dynamic together. Plus, it's super diverse! Zofia is Jewish and autistic, Séverin is half Algerian and half French, Enrique is half Phillipino, half Spanish, and bisexual, Hypnos is half black, half French, and queer, and Laila is Indian. Overall, fun, a little confusing, a lot like Six of Crows.
