Fantastic Story Full of Mystery and Intrigue

The Gilded Wolves is a lush, dark fantasy full of memorable characters and an intriguing plot. The cast of characters is what made this book great -- I absolutely loved each and every one of them. The characters are diverse, funny, and interesting and I fell in love with the "squad". I also loved the illustrations that were present throughout the novel. These illustrations significantly helped me understand the plot and what the characters were talking about regarding ancient artifacts, patterns, puzzles, etc. The plot was very fast-paced and I was never bored reading this book. I enjoyed the author's writing style as well and felt that it matched the style of story well. I am looking forward to continuing the series with the next installment.
