I know a lot of people are comparing this novel to Six of Crows, and I get that. Much like Ace of Shades, this book has the same feel.
However, the characters and plot definitely differs from both Six of Crows or Ace of Shades.
I will say though that the overall magic system and worldbuilding can get confusing at times. I even sometimes found myself having to reread certain lines over again because of the confusing names. That aside, however, this story is so magical and fantastical. Not mention that it's set in late 1800s Paris!
I won't say too much for fear of spoiling the story, but if you're a fan of heist stories and want a richly detailed cast of characters, Id recommend this book to you.
