An Okay Read

This book might have fallen victim to my life circumstances while reading it, but, while still a good read, was not the best heist novel I've ever read.

I enjoyed the witty banter, the interesting concept of "forging" (magic in their world), and the storyline itself. Roshani Chokshi's writing is beautiful and descriptive, and I always enjoy a good found family dynamic in a story. Hypnos by far became one of my favorite characters.

As for what I didn't love, the unnecessary relationship drama towards the end felt rather forced to me. It made me frustrated with the characters and their decisions when I had been relatively enjoying them the rest of the story. Some of the pacing felt slightly off to me throughout the book, and I had a difficult time staying motivated to continue reading.

I will say that I partially read this on audio and was not a fan of the narrators, and that I plan to read this again when I'm more in the mood for it to give it another chance. It's entirely possible my rating will change then. But for now, it's just an okay read.
