I loved this book from beginning to end! The author builds such a beautiful and magical world you can't help but want to get lost in it.
The book is set in Paris in the late 1800s. A group of outcasts each with their own special abilities are trying to make their way in the world. As you read the book you can't help but fall in love with each and every single one of the characters. They are charming, enigmatic and mysterious all in their own ways. Laila was my favorite, I wanted to be her! I love how complex all of her characters are and also they're diverse, in a way that adds to the story and to their conflicts.
The mythology makes me feel like I want to live in the world of the Order of Babel. She writes it almost like they're a knight's of the templar with their mystery and secrets. This is probably one of the first if not only book I have rated five stars and I can't wait to read the rest of the series!
