A stunning, magical read
The Gilded Wolves is deliciously magical, stunningly diverse, and absolutely devastating set in late 19th century Paris. Séverin and his group of skilled misfits plan a heist to reclaim his inheritance. I loved these characters so much that I can't choose a favorite. Laila has a heartbreaking past and Enrique has such an infectious passion for history. How could I not love Tristan and his devotion to his tarantula? So many moments made me laugh, and there were so many moments of reflection about identity. There's a wealth of fascinating history and symbolism in the story, although I do admit that at the beginning I was overwhelmed and couldn't remember which House was which and what exactly the Fragment or the Horus Eye was. The Gilded Wolves was so much fun to read, and I can't wait for the next book!
