I liked this book, the pace is slow but it's because it's the first book and the author is presenting all the characters.
I enjoyed the universe that The Gilded Wolves is set in: late 19th century Paris. It’s a fascinating setting in a changing era. There is a lot of diversity in this book, Enrique for example has Spanish ancestry but he's Filipino. But as he looks more Spanish than Filipino he is not considered a true Filipino and always must prove himself.
There are Gay characters, bisexual characters and probably Asexual too.
And there is a form of autism in Zofia, at least that's what I think.
Mostly I loved Laila and I think she's my favorite character in the book. Severin is not my favorite one. I loved Hypnos too, the scene with him were hilarious.
