This was an enjoyable ride! The writing was atmospheric and descriptive, with intricate plots and riddles that kept me intrigued. The multiple POVs brought a lot of layers to the story, and although the premise and some of the characters did feel similar to that of Six of Crows (i.e. ragtag team of misfits banding together for a heist), I did really like the main cast; they were all so unique and complex and diverse. Séverin was a great leader; the "lessons" he learned from each of his fathers were so interesting. I liked how complex Laila was; she seemed to be perky a lot of the time, but deep down, she was dealing with a lot of internal struggles. Her strength and independence and determination were very empowering. I loved Enrique and Zofia as well—Zofia's was probably my favorite POV overall; seeing the world through her eyes was a lot of fun.
