The cover of The Gilded Wolves is quite pretty, but the excerpt was decidedly unimpressive. The book starts off with an influx of information and capitalized common nouns, as fantasy is apt to do. However, it is far too much of an info dump: too much at once. And it isn't really clear what "Forging" is. The characters don't stand out and seem to be following a found family format. I'm also questioning the grammatical correctness of L'Eden Hotel (I'm far from being a francophone, but it sounds strange). All in all, this excerpt is nothing but info dumps, typical fantasy with magical abilities and houses/families.
