Roshani Chokshi has become one of my favorite authors, and this book proves her incredible versatility as she fashions a new, rich world set in a culture and country completely different than her last series. The world building is chock full of whimsy and magic that lies buried in every paragraph. The combination of Forging and the Babel fragments and Christianity is fascinating and well done, the whole world feels unique and complex. I couldn’t put this down- the characters are already detailed and have depth despite only a short excerpt of the novel. I honestly can’t wait for this book to release, I had not known it existed until BookishFirst.
