Nice bit of history
I was looking forward to this book once I saw the synopsis- a woman who is a translator during the court hearings for officers at Auschwitz. So glad to get it on Bookishfirst!
Eva Bruhns is a young woman who ends up with the job as translator during the trials. Her parents run a restaraunt called the German House, and she has a younger brother Stefan and an older sister Annegret who is a nurse. She also has a boyfriend named Jurgen. Throughout the book the story follows Eva and her family as well as a few other characters.
I enjoyed this book. First of all for the history that it brought to life since I have not read about these trials before. Second because Eva was an independent woman who did what she wanted. Overall a good read!
Thanks to Bookish First for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
