The German Novel
The German House offers a new perspective on the aftermath of World War II. Eva Bruhns, a young adult who grew up in the shadow of the war, is getting ready to settle down as a housewife. However, Eva's cookie-cutter life is thrown into disarray when she is asked to be a translator at the Frankfurt Auschwitz Trials. The novel is off to a compelling start, and I look forward to reading the rest of it.
