Initially, The German House doesn’t really capture my attention. It isn’t until I read the book description that I grew intrigued by this book. The first few chapters were fascinating and showed that this is a different take on telling what happened in WWII. There is plenty of mystery in whether Eva and Jurgen will get engaged, despite his ultimatum that she decline the translator position. You are also left wondering why Eva knows Polish numbers and how her family’s past could potentially play in the story. I’m also curious about David Miller’s role in this story.
