From the beginning of the book, the writing had me hooked. Eva does not want to become an old maid. She wants a family and house of her own, away from her parents and feels that Jurgen is the one. When Eva is called in the work on a Sunday, the day her Jurgen meets the family, things begin to look different. Eva is a translator but today she is translating something she is not accustomed. Today, she is translating war crimes. Are things really as they seem? Would Eva be happy with Jurgen? Did these things really happen? Why does her dad not talk about the war? So many questions for Eva but will they get answered. Cannot wait to read this historical fiction novel.
