I’m intrigued and want to keep reading!
I really like the author’s writing style - her use of color in her descriptions really paints a picture of each scene. I’m intrigued by the dilemma that Eva faces. She wants to be engaged and married (to a man who doesn’t want her to work) but also wants autonomy and the choice to work as a translator. Which will she choose - Jürgen or her work?
I also like that this story is from the perspective of a German. So many books that focus on WWII are written from the perspective of those that were persecuted against. As a German translating the words of Polish victims, I expect that Eva will be tested in many ways and will have her eyes opened to the things that really happened. I can’t wait to read more and see how it all unfolds!
