Engaging story with strong character development
The story builds up perfectly by humanizing all of the characters and showing their personalities. As it goes on, we start to realize that things may not be as placid as they seem. The author explores morality, anti-semitism, classism, Holocaust denial, and women’s oppression all in a balanced and realistic way. The characters are written as actual people, not as plot points to heavy-handedly push a narrative. I can’t wait to read the rest of the book to find out how each character responds to the events that will unfold.
