I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this medical beauty from Celadon Books. I am going to go ahead and be honest, and admit that it took me a little bit to get through because of all the medical terms in it. Apparently Grey's Anatomy can only do so much to help you understand lol. However, it is not all medical terms and definitely does not have a textbook feel to it. Euan Angus Ashley, MD PHD takes us through the journey of how he led the first team to study the complete human genome (our DNA sequence, and each individual bracket) to help solve some medical mysteries. He even has some funny examples to help break down the medical and financial terms he discusses. It took me about a week to read it fully, because I would read a couple chapters and have to stop in order to process them. I wanted to be able to attempt to fully understand what he was trying to explain. I really think this is a good read for anyone interested in the medical field or medical mysteries. There is a section that talks about how studying genomes saved a sweet baby's life, which of course pulled at my mama heart strings. I can honestly say that I hope one day everyone's health care can be customized to them using their genome. I would certainly appreciate it.

It was so informative that I have some hope for the future of healthcare! I think anyone interested in medical terms and mysterious cases needs to check out this book when it hits the shelves later this month! Only giving four stars because of the struggle I had with all the medical terms.
