If you had a choice to know your body carried a genome for a serious/ deadly disease, would you want to know? I love science. It’s always fascinated me and I think that’s why I love reading about it.
This novel explains different cases that the author has encountered on his genome studies. By using genomes, doctors and genetic counselors are able to analyze if a person has any pre-existing conditions, that they may not be able to know about until it’s too late.
Even with all of the chemistry and biology classes that I’ve taken, I found parts of this hard to understand. It does give an in-depth definition of how genomes are studied. I think the author did his best to make it as simple as possible.
I loved reading the different stories of how the genomes are used to help people, even the families who are grieving the loss of a loved one with no explanation.
I think science is so important, and book let me nerd out.
