This book took me awhile to get into and and then something threw it off and took me out again. I hadn't read anything else by Newitz but Wil Wheaton blurbed it so I knew I needed to read it. The beginning starts off confusing, anything to do with time travel gets confusing! And then when POVs and time periods were switched, it got even more confusing. I wanted the time travel to get easier to understand but it didn't and the flow never really happened. I was hoping the end would resolve well but I just didn't enjoy it. The webs were messy and I didn't like the time travel explanation, rocks spread around the world, much like Outlander and the standing stones. I love how much this cover pops!! Magenta!! Yes! Very eye-catching! And the clock inside the flower is very interesting. But not enough for me to enjoy the book unfortunately. I'm not sure I will seek out any other Newitz novels.
