This ones a doozy. It was a bit more explicit than I would have liked. Annalee Newitz definitely did not tiptoe around anything. But other than that and the language. It was an exquisite book. She did a great job with all the tricky bits of time travel. And it was really interesting how Annalee thought things could/would change. In fact, when it came to social issues, for women and POC specifically, she took it in so many different directions. It ranged from present conditions to radical. In the worst way. These usually sensitive issues were handled beautifully. And minus the slightly R rated stuff. It is a book that could easily live on the to be taught in english classes. Although, fair warning. The ending did kinda make me want to throw the book.
