I hate to say it, but I put a lot of stock into the quotes and reviews at the top of summaries. If Wil Wheaton says this is good sci-fi (or "speculation fiction" as he referred it to) , then I trust him.
My absolute first impression, before even reading the actual summary was "omg not another dual era perspective".. The time traveling intrigues me and kind of cancels out the tired cliche of the 30 year gap.
Also given the author's credentials, I believe she could weave a good plot. If I'm in a sci-fi mood I might give it a shot.
