Love strong, independent women but this is too much

Don’t get me wrong: I love books with strong, independent female characters. My favorite characters to read about are the ones who don’t need a man or children to make them feel as if their life is complete. However, it’s getting to be way too much for me. Every single book that is published lately seems to hype up “female empowerment”. Less is truly more at times. I don’t need to constantly be beat over the head with the message, and I hate being preached to about politics. I can figure out the political landscape on my own, thank you very much. Sorry, but I’m going to respectfully pass on this one.
